Richmond Arms Hotel (Adults Only) - Tomintoul

Had a boss stay in this older hotel, la! The food was spot on, especially the dinner, and the staff couldn’t do enough for us. Just a shame there weren't many plug sockets for me gadgets, though!

this good old and quaint hotel occupies a traditional building in the traditional style. the staff are lovely friendly and active, we liked them.

Beautiful old and quaint accommodation with amazing setting just next door to the Cairngorms national park, Tomintoul's main square, and scottish skiing. Fantastic friendly people working here, gorgeous breakfast. Nicely decorated standard twin room with views of mountain. Had clean an electric kettle, central heating and a work desk. Honestly no complaint.

My room was spacious and comfortable, and I thoroughly enjoyed the breakfast with excellent choices, including a good vegetarian option.

Some decor feels outdated.

Nice building and rooms with a good sized double bed. Gorgeous and fine breakfast with decaf coffee, orange juice and coloured water, reasonably priced. Remote location on Tomintoul's main square...

The location provides a lovely outlook, and the room had a good size with plenty of tea, coffee, and biscuits provided . The internet reception was solid throughout my stay, a bonus for catching up on some messages.

The hotel is in desperate need of a facelift. The decor feels dated, and the bathrooms could definitely use an upgrade. For instance, the shower had minimal water pressure, and the shower curtain appeared stained. I also had issues with the room door that wouldn't lock properly and found the overall upkeep lacking, including a chair with broken surfaces and a breakfast that got repetitive.

The bar is cozy, and my family appreciated the extensive whisky menu while we relaxed after hiking in the scenic area. Plus, it was great to find a pet-friendly place.

My wife says that the room could use more plug sockets for charging devices.

The large beautiful double room was accommodating and pet-friendly. Staff went the extra mile, recommending a fantastic local whisky and accommodating dietary restrictions at breakfast. The room's decor was somewhat outdated, and the water pressure in the shower could be improved. Some noise from the main road was noticeable at times.

The Richmond Arms offers a warm and inviting bar where a fresh stone-baked artisan pizza pairs perfectly with an excellent selection of around 150 single malt whiskies. Breakfast was a highlight, with solid portions that kept the energy up for hiking. The quaint location in the heart of Tomintoul provides nice views of the surrounding mountains.

Enjoyed a relaxing night with a spacious room overlooking the main street. The lively bar offered an excellent whisky selection. Make sure to explore the breakfast options-they exceeded my expectations, especially with the vegetarian choices. Check-in process was smooth and cute.

On my honeymoon, richmond arms really exceeded my expectations. The staff were helpful, and the food served was good, especially the dinner. Our room was spacious and clean.
